5 ways to combat procrastination

  1. Break down tasks into smaller, more manageable chunks. This gives you multiple achievable milestones rather than one distant one.

  2. Create a schedule or to-do list and stick to it, we love lists.

  3. Eliminate distractions such as social media or TV. Quit scrolling through TikTok, flick your phone on ‘do not disturb’ and get to work.

  4. Hold yourself accountable by telling someone else about your goals. Nobody wants to be the person who always has the ideas and never sees them through.

  5. Reward yourself for completing tasks on time - who doesn’t love a reward?

Causes of procrastination

Procrastination can be caused by various factors such as fear of failure, lack of motivation, feeling overwhelmed, poor time management skills, and perfectionism. It can also be a result of underlying mental health issues such as ADHD, anxiety or depression.
